I Wanna Be Like Eduardo

  • October 18, 2014

I have been under contract to buy a house since August 26th of this year. It has been…something else.  Actually, it's always something else.  I gave them everything.  Pretty much anything I'd touched in the past six months that had a number on it.  Only to find out they needed something else.  An explanation of this $20 deposit, a picture of a dollar bill drawn by my eldest.  A side of fries.  You get the idea. For the record, I have not closed yet. It has been delayed twice since October 1st. Though, the other day I was reassured it will happen. The underwriting...

Splish-Splash!

  • August 3, 2014

Typically I spend my birthday whistling nonchalantly and pretending I don't know what day it is.  Well, that's what I've been doing for the past four or five years anyway.  That wasn't the case this year.  This year I decided I wanted to start off the home stretch of my thirties with a big splash. At the Wedgewood Lodge we work with Performance Tours and they give our guests a discount.  I contacted Kevin to book our trip and then spent the following two weeks riling my children into a feverish frenzy of excitement.  Because how else do you think Moms have fun? On...

It’s All Downhill from Here

  • June 25, 2014

I have not ridden a bike much at all in the past twenty years.  The extent of my biking prowess is giving my all to keeping up with my seven and four-year-old on a jaunt around the block.  And, even the round-the-block jaunts find me a little wobbly.  When someone says, "Don't worry, it's like riding a bike," it gives me pause. So when an e-mail reached my inbox informing me that the front desk gals, of whom I am one, were going to be taking the Vail Pass Bike Tour with Charter Sports (because it's really a good idea to have some notion of the activities we are suggesting to guests...

Seeing Stars

  • November 26, 2013

Zube: All righty, let's see who has to be nice to who in the office today. *flipping to the horoscopes on the last page of the Summit Daily* Zube: Nice!  Four star day for me!  Oh, Beth, you're going to have a four star day, too! Beth: Great.  So we don't have to be nice to each other. *Brigitte strolls in* Zube: Brigitte, Brigitte, Libra.  Uh-oh.  Only three stars.  Beth, we have to be nice to Brigitte today. Beth: We always have to be nice to Brigitte.  She's the GM. Zube: Heh. This horoscope check?  Is a morning ritual.  Except on Sunday...

NorthSide Pizza…It’s What’s for Lunch

  • November 3, 2013

Usually somewhere between 8:05AM and 8:30AM the topic of conversation around here will turn to what everyone plans to have for lunch. And it carries on intermittently throughout the morning. Every once in a while it quiets down. Like when Beth is eating her grapefruit. Or I'm eating my ramen noodles. (Yes. I really just said that. I'm old enough to be President and I still eat ramen.) And when Sarah or Brigitte are drinking their fancy shakes. Well, they call them juices but I personally contend that juices are made of things that grow on trees. Like apples and oranges. However, things that grow...

Well It’s A-Blog Time…

  • October 12, 2013

Greetings and Salutations! I figure an introduction is appropriate for our very first bloggy post here on our very brand new website, so let's start there.  My name is Teresa Zube, but most folks around here call me Zube.   I worked at the Wedgewood Lodge for eight years from 2002 - 2010 as Group Sales and Marketing Manager before I decided to take a two-year hiatus to try my hand at being a Stay-at-Home-Mom. While I thoroughly enjoyed the two years I spent wrestling socks onto indignant small people and insisting we were going somewhere to younguns who had no intention of going ANYWHERE...
